Pride Parade 2015

This is my sketchbook opened flat with two different sketches. The left side is my sketch from Canada Day and the right side is my sketch from the Pride Parade. But the two sketches flow together like one scene.  Just about every week there is some festival or other all summer in Victoria. (The woman on the right in the black skirt is Victoria artist Carollyne Yardley (also known as the Squirrel Artist).

Red Maple Leaf Botanical

I love gathering autumn leaves, pine cones, chestnuts, etc. Autumn is an amazing time of year. Suddenly the sky turns silver and the ground becomes a mosaic of gold, copper, reds, yellows, and all earthy ochres. If I take a stroll under the trees I come out with great bunches of colourful leaves, and other  such paintable treasures.
